Waiting With Two Clear Choices

Use two visual or spoken choices while a child waits for a turn, snack, or activity.

Try it like this

  1. While the child is waiting, show two simple options such as book or block, sit or stand, banana or water. Name each choice slowly and repeat the same pair for a few days.

Parent tip

Waiting often feels easier when the child knows exactly what the two available options are.
